    Can We?

In the face of all the whining and complaining (and rejoicing, from some quarters) about Texas' declining star on the national and international stage, it appears that some Texans are feeling... dare I say... HOPEFUL?

I wonder how many people nationwide have composed Obama-themed folk or square dances?  This was at the Downtown Farmers' Market last week.

    Keep Austin Weird!

    So wonderfully, deliciously weird.

I am going to have that particular 'yeeeee--essss we can' in my head all day.

Isn't it great? Unfortunately, the dance went on for at least ten minutes, and the lyrics? Well, you've heard all of them!

    Fun, though. Yay Austin!

I like the keep Austin weird. I also like the dancing even if it might have been a bit monotonous,it's one of the small things from America that I miss once in awhile.

Marla, it's true- that is certainly American-style folk dancing! And I didn't really mind the monotony at all... the reality of the election is still too exciting.
