Slowly but surely, we're making our way back from New Orleans to Austin. This morning, we're visiting family in Natchitoches, Louisiana, home of Steel Magnolias, the Natchitoches meat pie, and our perfect little 15 day old niece Aleda. Lookit her! I mean, now try to resist the siren call of fresh new baby!
Natchitoches has very little by way of Internet, but we were thrilled this morning to learn, between baby snuggles, that our blog has been named one of the top ten in Austin by the Chronicle's Kate Thornberry! Her article, which I can't link to here because I'm posting from my iPhone, also mentions some old favorites and some new finds we can't wait to start exploring. I'll post a link tomorrow from Austin.
