Raw Kibbeh with pita is the best! I grew up eating it at every holiday occasion (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, etc..) and on any random hot summer day. My mom or Tata (Grandma) would always make it raw for the day-of and then cook up any leftovers for pine-nut stuffed football versions the next day. So good!

I am a total food freak and I have been following your blog...love you guys your great! I found you via your Pop Rock Cup Cakes...which by the way turned out SO well...I used the cashew butter for the filling, but I added a little bit of frosting last minute to sweeten it up and it made it delicious and the rocks did not pop! Thanks so much !

Mira, Burgul - how neat! And we loved it straight with garlic sauce. Mmmm, now I have a craving I can't satisfy in Austin. Darnit.

David, summertime sounds perfect for raw kibbe! We'll have to try out some recipes when it gets hot out. And it makes perfect sense that the leftovers would be fried up the next day!

Thank you, K8 - Logan will be so glad to hear you made the cupcakes and they turned out well! The frosting idea is a good one.

Wow! The meat of the lamb is so fine. I'm absolutely impressed!

Oooooh, this is one of those things I grew up with as well. I didn't ever get the football shaped cooked kibbe though. My dad always made baked kibbe in a 9 x 13" pan scored diagonally. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever had fried kibbe!

Healthy Foods, it was pretty cool!

Jaye, baked kibbe sounds interesting! Did your dad do his with bulgur, too?

David is right! Raw Kibbeh with pita is the best! We have it every year at our family reunion!!
