1. Those flowers look like Troll doll hair!
2. It's nice to know that we're not the only ones with black thumbs. That's exactly why we're so excited about a single melon growing. Ridiculous.
3. Mountain Dew Jelly sounds awesome. One of the AFM vendors sells Dr. Pepper jelly and it is really sweet but tasty.
4. I think you can use salt pork similar to how you might use lardons or something. I think it's traditionally used in cassoulet too? Jesse from Dai Due sells it, so maybe you could email him for some ideas.
5. If you need rabbit ideas, I'd recommend braising it! Once cooked through, take the rabbit pieces out and reduce the braising liquid. Add some cream and good mustard. Then serve with some mashed potatoes. Super good.
6. I love the slogan at that Rocky Peanuts place.

That's it for my slew of random comments.

P.S. We just picked up the 3rd edition of the Fearless Critic (had the first one previously). We were pleasantly surprised to find that you and Logan contributed! Now we trust it even more. :)

Ha, they do look like troll doll hair! And thanks for the random comments and the kind words about Fearless Critic. We've been checking out out copy here and are hating missing out on all the Austin restaurants...

Boots in the Oven

We DEFINITELY have to go back to check those out!

Jason

The BBQ during the day at Bert's is amazing!

Boots in the Oven

It looked like it! I'm sad I never had a chance to get back to the market. Next time we're in Detroit.
