Melody Fury

That's incredible! I'll be sure to follow your journey. Bon Voyage!

OMG, this is incredible! What an amazing journey you'll have - can't wait to read all about it! I am travelling vicariously through you!

How exciting! You guys will have a blast. I could help you out on several of those, just ask away!

Wahoo! Come find me when you get up to organizing NZ....I know a coupla peeps down there ;)

I turned over to my new husband last night and said, "check this out," and told him what you guys are doing. I am dying to know how you manage this financially, because that's the one small thing stopping me :)
As for your travels, my parents are from Argentina and I have a bit of family still there. Any clue when you'll be there? (We are going this summer on a late honeymoon -- mid-June to early July.)
If you want to send me a private email, I'd be happy to recommend a few restaurants (I was there a few years ago and there are simply some MUSTS) and even some cousins who might be up for a visit!
Let me know.

Boots in the Oven

Thank you so much! Knowing that people wil be reading will definitely motivate me to post updates. :-)

Boots in the Oven

Thanks, Su-Lin! I owe you for all the vicarious travel I've done through you in the past several years.

Boots in the Oven

Yay! Yes, that would be awesome! I seem to recall a big Africa trip several years ago?

Boots in the Oven

Yes! That would be wonderful! We'll be in NZ near the end of our trip - April/May 2012. Any plans to make a visit?

Boots in the Oven

Laura, that would be terrific! Any information you could give us would be totally appreciated. We've been saving up over the last few years - and we're going to be pretty budget-conscious on our travels (note that we don't have many expensive countries covered on this trip - no Europe, no Japan).

Michelle | Bleeding Espresso

Awesome! Can't wait to live vicariously through you...off to make sure I'm hooked up on any and all Twitter feeds :D

Boots in the Oven

Thanks, Michelle! Logan's pretty excited about tweeting over at @gofindfood.

Just plain awesomeness.

Kristina (from Seattle)

So jealous! You guys are basically the coolest couple I've never met! Very much looking forward to following along via your blog.

KICK ASS!!! You guys are going to have a blast and I can't wait to live vicariously through your words and images. Any chance you'll be in Vietnam in September? Would love to take you to my fave spots. If not, the blog's got all the deets you'll need. Bon Voyage!

Yep, and I lived in the UAE for 6 months. We've been to Cambodia and Thailand too, but I think you have been to Thailand already, right? Dan has also been to Australia and NZ and we've been to El Salv as well - it can be rough. If you travel throughout Mexico, I would def recommend visiting Valle de Bravo - very cute. And best pizza I've ever had was in Namibia - might consider a detour, lol!

you people never fail to amaze me. Bon Voyage.

Boots in the Oven

I'm a little concerned about El Salvador as well. We've been to Thailand, but only for a week and we didn't get to the south at all. And I'll have to look into Valle de Bravo - thanks! Will send an email.

Boots in the Oven

Thank you!

Boots in the Oven

Aw, thank you, Kristina! We can't be that cool - we haven't made it to Seattle yet! Good to hear from you.

Boots in the Oven

Hi, Cathy! We are SO EXCITED. I think we'll be in Vietnam closer to January or February of next year, but I'm not sure yet. How awesome would that be to be there at the same time?! And I'll definitely be using your blog as a resource!

Boots in the Oven

Thanks, RONW! Planning hot and heavy. Maybe we'll make a stop in Hawaii on the way back, if I can talk Logan into it?

This. Is. Awesome. (!!!) So many bravos to you two for doing this. (Umm, will the cats be OK?)

I can help a bit with TH, VN and SG. But quickly, check your timing for VN, and be sure you are not going over Tet (Lunar New Year) unless you have a family to stay with. VN *shuts down* over Tet and the two weeks afterward. It can be ... lonely.

Boots in the Oven

Thanks, Maryn! We will be renting our place (furnished and complete with kitties) to a lovely lady who is a friend of a friend. I'm a bit nervous, but she seems like a total sweetheart.

Good point about Tet - it sounds a bit like going to Italy over ferragosto! I'll be sure to check when we'll be there. It looks like Tet is pretty early next year, so hopefully that will help us out.

And we would love any information you can share with us! Any vaccination advice, too? We've got yellow fever, typhoid, hep a and b, pertussis, and tetanus, and I think we'll get polio when Logan gets back in town. :-)

I'm a lurker--but wow! Yeah, I have friend / places / recommendations for Bogota, Sao Paulo and Rio, and Ho Chi Minh City and a cool area in rural South Africa. Email me for specifics and you guys are going to have a blast! We have Bogota and Brazil posted on our blog archives.
